First of all, Staci, my step-daughter, is in the middle of her stay at the Sedona Wellness Retreat in Arizona. Let me explain, this is a three-week nutritional program to detox from chemo treatment, and to rebuild her immune system. Make sure you read to the end of this article, where Staci gives a poignant review of the Retreat so far.
Sedona is a beautiful town surrounded by picturesque red rocks. The contrast between the red cliffs and the green trees and the cobalt-blue sky is enchanting. At sunset the mountains glow with orange fire. The Sedona Wellness Retreat is hidden away in a grove of pine trees, and is complemented by an imposing landscape design.… More

Alternative Cancer Treatments – Several months ago I reviewed a new book called Radical Remission of Cancer by Dr Kelly Turner.
The author discovered nine common factors in cancer survivors, after interviewing hundreds of survivors plus many alternative cancer healers. Click on the colored words to see the nine common factors.
I shared this info with a friend of mine, Karen Larre, and she has recently interviewed Dr Turner and reported this interview in her health magazine called Truly Alive. The link will take several seconds to come up.

Integrative Medicine – I have come to respect Dr Andrew Weil. From reading his book Spontaneous Happiness, to seeing him discuss natural remedies for the heart and the lungs on TV with Dr Oz. Thirdly, he has published a pyramid of anti-inflammatory foods that I have just discovered. Dr Weil gave a lecture in the Lensic Theater in Santa Fe this week.… More

So many people have cancer…..something like 1 in 3 in the USA……we all know someone close to us who has contracted it. Yet biomedical scientists have been searching for a cure for 50 years. A conventional treatment often consists of chemotherapy plus radiation, both of which are toxic (poisons) and kill good cells as well as bad cells. This can be a real dilemma to a cancer patient who faces sickness and hair loss and energy depletion while on this regimen, which can last for weeks.
Along comes a new book that arose from interviews with many cancer patients who weren’t expected to live…..but… More

To view these two giants of wellness talking side-by-side was the highlight of my TV week. Andy Weil, with his full white beard, exudes wisdom when he talks about holistic medicine.
Pointing to bottles of supplements set out neatly on a table, Weil discussed alternative medicines: bottles for the heart and blood pressure, bottles for the immune system, bottles for the brain. After this, he grinned at Dr Oz, jumped into the subject of depression, and mentioned two things that can be helpful.… More
