WHATS IN THIS BLOG: • How do you keep on living? • Dawnya’s story. • Lola creates a garden. • If you have lost a child…..

PREAMBLE: I have made a few more videos (most of them less than 2 mins) on the subject of Fracking for Dummies and Non-Experts. How to access? See at bottom of this blog writeup.

HOW DO YOU KEEP ON LIVING? How do you survive 15 years of clinical depression? When friends thought you would die. And when you have to hold your head up high because you’re the wife of a prominent missionary to the hippies?

How do you deal with a daughter who was rebelling for 10 years? But then the prodigal comes home, and you become best friends, talking every day.… More “Lola’s garden”

WHATS IN THIS BLOG: • Filling 450 Christmas gift packs. • Delivering them to a women’s prison.

This blog falls in the category of Inspiration and Hope. My other two blog categories are Science and Energy, and Health and Hiking.

DAY 1: WAS SPENT FILLING 450 BAGGIES WITH GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS: Candies such as Reese’s Peanut Butter, tracts which share the gospel of Jesus, a New Testament, and a pair of white tennis socks. Woops I nearly forgot: Rice Crispies, and Oreo cookies, and a Bible study guide.

The organizer was Don Compton of Shalom Ministries, which has had a prison ministry for 45 years. Don began his ministry by witnessing to the hippies who lived in communes in the mountains around Santa Fe in early 1970s.… More “Christmas greetings…..from Prison”

WHATS IN THIS BLOG: • What is a felony? • Do people with felonies deserve a second chance in the workforce? • The felon in Les Miserable.

First of all, this article is dedicated to Don and Lola Compton, who have led Shalom Ministries for over 45 years. The ministry began for hippies living in the mountains behind Santa Fe, and broadened to include inmates in penitentiaries in New Mexico. Part of the mission is to provide training for jobs and mentors when inmates are released, and to connect them with halfway houses. Please pray for Don’s recovery as he is in rehab for another month or so, after a debilitating health breakdown. If you would like to send a card: PO Box 90910, ABQ, NM 87199.… More “Would you hire or recommend a person with a felony for a job?”
