Kim Pollock McGrath is my step-daughter who lives in Independence, Kansas. This is an inspiring story about how God intervened – around the time of her sister’s tragic death – and Kim became an author.

Kim is an elementary school teacher. For many years, she wanted to write a children’s book. Lots of ideas came and went, but she never had the confidence to write. That changed in 2018.

Here is the story in her own words: “Four years ago, while driving out of town, I saw a little tree out in the open field all by itself. Something about that little tree touched me in a special way.

I’ve written about earthquakes in Oklahoma, caused mainly by the oil-and-gas industry (see HERE and HERE). The numbers reached their peak in 2015-2016 and have been falling since then due to regulations by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

KANSAS REPORTED EARTHQUAKES NEAR THE OKLAHOMA BORDER. Same origin as the quakes in Oklahoma: disposal wells for getting rid of waste-water, which is mainly water produced along with oil and/or gas. The main culprit, in both states, was the Mississippi limestone, a formation that produces oil and LOTS of water in the regions northwest – northeast of Oklahoma City.… More

 

Every once in a while I learn of an occasion when God talks with someone, in an audible voice. Here is a vivid example.

A nursing home was being closed by the state. A lady I shall call Gwen was called to assess some residents of the home, to see if they could be transferred into an alternative nursing home which was partly owned by Gwen. Gwen was accompanied by Jodie who was also a Christian.… More
