I RECEIVED AN EMAIL TODAY FROM FRIENDS KEVIN AND HIS WIFE DOROTA. It was an appeal for money to support a young nurse in her education. It was a GoFundMe format that my friends helped set up. Not only that, the nurse lived in Tanzania, in Africa. They are dreadfully short of nurses over there: only one for every 27 patients.

I found this individual effort inspiring — to help a young person, who is not well off and living in another country. Despite the political confusion here in the USA over immigration, there are people in the USA who genuinely want to help disadvantaged people overseas.… More

STORY OF THE RICH YOUNG RULER.

A certain ruler asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus said to him,” …You know the commandments: ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT TESTIFY FALSELY, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER.’” He replied, “I have kept all these things from my youth.”

When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “You still lack one thing; sell everything that you have and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.… More

WHATS IN THIS BLOG:

You mean kids don’t have a bed to sleep in? A visionary program Beds-4-kids. How it all started. Excitement on their faces.

I VOLUNTEERED SOME HOURS THIS WEEKEND TO GIVE BEDS TO NEEDY KIDS. Some families may need food, yes, but there are welfare and church programs for this. Some kids may need doctors, but we have Medicaid. Some kids may need clothes, but we have Goodwill, etc. Some kids may need beds, but…… Wait– do you mean kids don’t have beds???

But when a church gets out of the pews, and gives time and money to provide beds for poor and needy kids in the community, that’s impressive.
